Visiting Weekend Rendezvous

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

Visiting Weekend Rendezvous

Post by hpharty » Tue Feb 12, 2008 12:45 pm

After seeing that many of us will be attending the same visiting weekends, I felt a thread like this would be appropriate. This way we can meet up, high-five, and buy some beers for one another.

Imaginationland is still under reconstruction from the terrorist attack last fall on South Park.

I'm visiting U. of Oregon on Feb 29 - Mar 2. Post here or PM me and I will buy you a drink when we are there. Or don't, it doesn't matter to me.

I will be at Davis Feb 29 - Mar 1 unless I get enough sudden acceptances in the next two days that I have to prioritize visits (quite unlikely).

I will also definitely be at University of Washington the following weekend.

Yeah grae313, that's the date.

neoslovakia - I bought one of the tickets but wasn't sure about my return flight so I didn't get that yet. I wouldn't worry about it except that plane tickets may get more expensive so you go over the $500 cap.

Laaaaame! I'm presenting a poster at a conference on march 27th at 8 PM, and Cornell's visiting weekend starts early on march 28th. That means I have to catch a plane at like 10 PM from San francisco and fly to Ithaca, but the only flights I can find have like three hour layovers and don't get there until like 10 in the morning. This is going to be hectic...

you guys are right. sry for whining

being on a plane or in an airport from 10 PM to 10 AM is really going to suck though. I'm going to be so tired meeting with the faculty... I'll probably be delirious and say all sorts of dumb things. they will wonder who admitted this moron ... lol

Yeah I was just kidding too. Everyone has an inalienable right to complain about airport layovers.
