Public or Private School

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

Public or Private School

Post by tamaghna » Sat Aug 17, 2013 4:09 am

Hi,

I'd like to know how you figure out whether a university is public or private funded. Can you search for something in their website that will make it certain?

I am an international grad school applicant so I'm looking to favour private schools in my list of univs. My primary interest is in Condensed Matter Theory.

If there exists a listing/ranking of US schools that either mention or demarcate private/public schools, that would be a great resource.

Thanks and warm regards,
Tamaghna
