Question on math graduate classes for a physicist

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

I think that grad classes are a bonus, not a detriment, so getting a B/B+ in an extra math class is still better than not having that math class at all. After all, if you took that math graduate class at your graduate school and got a B/B+, no one would care. If the topic is really important for you to know well, you can always take it again when in PhD program and you'll learn more since it will be your second time around. So I wouldn't worry about it.
