Exam 9277 statmech prob

Dear Friends,
In Stat mech and Thermodynamics , in some places they r even asking a bit difficult types also.
Today while going thru the 9277 paper, i encounter prob 71,72, 73 a bit difficult , i even tried to search in some of the higher books but didn't find the exact concept what they r asking . It may be also , that i haven't understood the question . So , if any of u have solved it , can u plz explain me ?

But I remember learning this stuff in my 4th year physics classes (which was after I took the GRE the first time). So, honestly, I would just skip this stuff and focus on improving things you've seen before!
