Looks like two guys from MIT are putting out a Gre prep book very soon.

Here is the website. I will be interested to hear reviews.

Rather pricey... most of the official & princeton general GRE prep books are around 15$.

Maybe they could lower the cost using lower quality/recycled paper... I don't think anyone needs a high quality hardcover for a test prep book.

Hi, Yoni here, one of the authors of the Physics GRE book mentioned in this thread.

While the book will be sold for $50, we will also sell individual chapters for $3, as well as individual sample exams for $8 and solutions for $4, all through our website. This way you can buy only what you need to prepare for the exam. We think $50 is a fair price for the book given that there is no comprehensive review for the physics GRE anywhere...the only other option is the Purple Book by REA, and you can read the reviews on Amazon or this forum yourself. As for the price of GRE books overall, the general GRE requires less comprehensive subject knowledge, hence it can be cheaper. We hope this book will serve as a reference for qualifying exams as well as the GRE, and that the price will not seem prohibitive.
