Not enough prep!

Post by prat » Sat Oct 13, 2007 1:36 pm

Hi ,

I've my Physics GRE on Nov 3 . But , I've hardly prepared ! I mean .. i definitely need a month more. Can you please let me know if its a good idea to postpone the test to Dec ? Is that ok? Can i still apply to colleges and have my score reported ?

are you in the US? the test is only offered in october, november, and april in the US. not sure about other countries.

If the test is available in december wherever you live, you should be fine for the schools with January 15th deadlines, but it will be tight for the schools with deadlines in december. They will begin considering applications on the deadline, but if the rest of your application is complete and you let them know you are waiting on your december GRE scores, they will wait and consider your application once the scores arrive, but once the scores finally get there you will be fighting for the few remaining spaces with people whos scores were in on time.

Tough decision.

hey,

I just registered, I also have 15 days to prepare. Would you like to have a cross internet discussion? Please let me know so we may work it out better.

best,

J

oh thats great! so how do we coordinate?

Why don't we discuss on this thread itself. So it might be helpful for anybody who doesn't have much time.

I was just working through mechanics :P.. long way to go

aw, surely we can discuss any problems at here, but it is not fast as AIM.

If you do not mind shall we work all sample practice test (ETS) out via AIM?

This week I will solve complete 96 and 92, then next week I will do for 82 and 01, and save the last week for review all of the material and the weakness points.

What do you think? if you like this schedule we can review the practice test at Sunday night of each week via AIM or cell phone.

best,

@garden - i'm ok with the schedule you've put up. i dont have an AIM id. i use gtalk. if thats not a prob. i can create an AIM id though. besides , i'm in india. so there might be some timing problem.

any other suggestions?

@tvatsu - we're still deciding how to coordinate.

@tvatsu: you are warmly welcome to discuss! Where are you? so we can match the time schedule to discuss.

@prat: oh yes, the timing problem, but it would not a big deal if we can arrange the time schedule to match with anyone.

Because of the time difference, I would suggest that we separate 400 problems from 4 tests by 8. So we will have 50 problems to discuss each time, and if we start from this Sunday, we will finish it on next Sunday, then one last w. for review and free discussion. What do you guys think?

The AIM or YM conference, it would be good!

@garden: good plan. starting sunday we could chat up once in 2 days. that would be sunday , tuesday etc.

can you pm me your aim id ?

also, what's the time difference? I'm at GMT+5:30 hrs. and what time of the day would you like to come online?

@tvatsu: same to you
