Score reporting for UCB and UCSB

Post by huyichen » Sat Dec 17, 2011 12:09 am

Hi guys, so I have taken GRE general test on May 2011 and PGRE on Oct 2011 and requested ETS to send both scores to UCB and UCSB. In their applications, I am asked to provide both registration numbers for the general test and physics test. However, the official score report only contains the most recent registration number, and therefore, in my status page, it is shown that they only received the official Oct PGRE test scores. Should I request an official score report for my general test sent to these universities separately? Anyone has the same problem?

yes same problem here, only mine is the reverse. GRE is most recent, and that is the score they are showing online.

ive tried calling graduate admissions, but they keep dodging me. I'm guessing that since both scores are sent with the most recent score report, and they are showing they have a copy of that, then they might just be slow in updating the other scores.

keep me posted if you hear of anything new.

hey, i just got a call back and was told that the two different GRE tests have different registration numbers (so ets lied to me when i called them).

so for schools that require a registration number to verify your scores, you will need both registration numbers. you can find them by calling ETS.

*edit*

but i dont think you need to re-send your former scores, if you have already done so in the combined score sending. just put in the "hidden" registration number.

The thing is that I have entered both registration numbers in my application and I asked ets to send an official report for the combined test scores(both general and physics), however, for the score report I received, it has all the test scores, but the only registration number listed is the most recent one. And it seems in the reports sent to these universities, only the most recent registration number is shown, therefore in my status page, it is shown that my official score report for the general test has not been received. So maybe we don't have the same problem?

I experienced the same difficulties (and a friend of mine too). In my case, as https://mygre.ets.org/greweb/action/ViewScores indicates, the results were sent in the late OCTOBER! However, we all filled "self-reported scores" section in their online application system, so if they will need these scores (personally, I think this is a problem with their online system, not with ETS), they will ask us to send them again.

my most recent score report listed the general and subject GRE scores, with my most recent registration number (happens to be General, since i took that test most recently).

when i talked to UCSB, they told me that the former test (for me, subject) had its own registration number that needed to be given, even though the score report showed both scores under the most recent number.

when i went to the berkeley app and entered my former registration number, my other test score was shown as being received. I would try this, and if that doesnt work, perhaps they havent received your newest score yet. or you can try calling them.

goodluck.

Solved the problem, thanks jitit! So the thing is that the registration number you entered for each test should be the registration number on the score report that ETS sent to you (check the score report you received for each test, each one should have a different registration number). Don't use the registration number shown on your mygre.ets.org account, that's not the registration number for your test!
