Capacitors

Post by adnankambar » Fri Mar 09, 2007 6:30 am

Can anybody help me to solve this kind of problem. The questions are
1 suppose one of the plates of a parallel plate capacitor was slid so that the area of overlap was reduced by half but are still parallel. How would this affect the capacitance?

2. suppose three identical capacitors are connected to abattery. Will they store more eneergy if they are connected in series or in parallel?

3 How much energy must a 12 V battery expend to fully charge a 0.1 Micro farad and a 0.2 micro farad capacitor when they are placed (a) in parallel (b) in series? ( c ) how much charge flow from the battery in each case?

For those that solve this problem, i would like to say thank you very much
