Has any one tried to get their scores via phone?

Of course not, scores by phone aren't available until November 8th at the earliest. I decided to see how long it would take to find this information on your own, so I timed myself and managed 8.631 seconds. It took one google search with the keywords, "subject gre scores by phone" and was under the first link titled "GRE Subject Tests: Getting Your Scores".

I think I could cut at least 2 seconds off my time if I had been on a faster internet connection but I suppose 8.631 sec is still respectable.

From past threads, they almost always come out a few days before scheduled.

That's good to know. I'll be calling in the morning to see if they are available this early.

They were not available on Thursday (called three times). By the way, you are going to hear a request from a nice woman NOT to place your next call in a week or so. If you fail to follow her instructions, your phone will blow up on the second call, and your score will be automatically lowered to 500.

How the hell did you get to the third phone call if your phone blew up on the second call?

Puzzling.

I just tried calling. I used both methods, social and registration number, and both time she said "cannot locate your records." I hope this just means that they dont have the scores available yet.

I called and tried using my registration number the first time and got the same "cannot locate your records" message. Then I tried it using my SSN and it responded by saying, "We have located your records for your most recent test taken October 2010, your scores are currently unavailable." Then the woman told me not to call back for 1 week or else she would buy me a puppy, let me fall in love with that puppy and then steal it away in the night. ETS doesn't play around!

Judging by previous threads, they should probably be out tomorrow morning. That makes sense, because they don't work on weekends and they have to get them up by Monday. So they really must be out by Saturday.

But then again, ETS logic always eluded me...

They have come out fairly regularly exactly 4 weeks from the test date. I know that worked for me, and from previous threads it has followed that pattern for at least the last 2 years

Wonderful!

How many would you say you felt you answered correctly? And how many did you "guess" on?

It would be nice to see what I'm aimiing for. Hoping for a similar score at least.

When I tried to make an educated guess after the exam, I came up with something between 85-90 as a raw score (after subtracting 1/4 * wrong_answers)

Ahh, It seems like the test is getting much easier than, considering the 0177 test was a raw score of 77 to get a 930..

The test seemed super easy in comparison to the practice tests last year.

830, 78%. Better than I thought, but not good enough for the schools I'm looking at. I guess I still have to shell out more money to ETS

My first try, with the confirmation number, got the same result. I'll try to look up the registration number and will edit this if I get through.

990 = 95%

Whooo Hooo! Look it me!

(I used my SS#)

Is there any way to get your registration number if you threw away your ticket stub?

I got the same score,, and was expecting the same raw score,, i guess something like 85 is 930
of course its likely that we overestimated our raw scores

I used the registration number listed on the online mygre system and it worked fine.
Also
860 82%, a little disappointed, but its not the worst score in the world. Hopefully grades and papers will make up for being a little low.

You can find you registration number from viewing your admission ticket in your GRE account.

Score-wise, 990 95%. I guess that can possibly make up my poor gpa...

You can't view it on the website at this time though, unless they have already been posted on there, which I highly doubt it.

I wouldn't worry about your test. It's very possible they started processing tests and just haven't got to yours. Notice there are lots of others missing theirs as well. Chill.

Sure enough, scores are up:

Score: 990
% Below: 95
Correct: 090
Incorrect: 010
Omits: 000
Formula Score: 088

I'm betting that I must have just barely barely barely squeaked by with a 990. I'd hoped I'd had fewer wrong but some of their questions are tricky.

And the score report dates for the institutions are showing up as "Nov 6", which is when the phone reports were first available. Does seem like ETS is rather unfairly charging $12 for score reports during these 2 weeks if the schools get them before we do.

I took the general GRE in the last day of October, and I received the score report 4 days ago via snail mail which also contains the October PGRE score (with how many wrong/correct/omit). I can only say ETS is a freakin' b**** for not releasing the score online, even if they are obviously more than ready to release it, in order to get that $12 fee for phone-in score.

Anyways, 74 correct / 8 incorrect / 18 omit = raw score of 72 will get you a 830 on the October 2010 test. Just in case someone wants to compile the data. In the 0177 curve, raw score of 72 gets you a 890 :(

It was pretty obvious to me all along that ETS was just being dicks for trying to get me to pay $12 for my score. I was tempted for a second to call in for my score, but I stuck to my principles and decided to just wait until today.

As we have mentioned before, new tests are usually easier than the 0177. =P

With a 990 score reported and an 830 score, we can virtually assume that each score between 88 and 72 is worth about 10 points. If 87 = 990, then each raw score would be worth 10 points exactly =P

By the way, when listing your registration number for tests, is your registration number the same for different tests?

The registration codes for the two different tests were the same in my case. I took the general in July, the subject in October. (This was something I was interested in because some of the schools give you a different place to put the registration number for the two and I wasn't sure I could rely on just one.)

And indeed the scaling is a lot kinder than I would have expected.

Apparently this test was a lot easier even than last year's. That time the cutoff for 990 was not above 82.

I just looked at my score report again: 87 = 990. One more data point for you.

From mfedderke's post, it seems like I barely pulled off a 990 :P
