Purdue vs. ND vs. University of Florida vs. BC vs. FS

Post by matrixx105 » Wed Apr 14, 2010 2:04 pm

Hello all. I need some advice. My choices are:
Purdue
Notre Dame
University of Florida
Florida State
Boston College

I want to work on Experimental Condensed matter, possibly superconductivity, but I have not decided yet. Definitely condensed matter though... :)

I don't know which school to pick! I have heard bad things about Tallahassee so Florida State doesnt sound so good. By rank Purdue is the best, and I am leaning towards that at the moment. Any advice on anything would be highly appreciated!!!
Things of interest: reputation, city quality, campus quality, department attitude... things like this! I need to respond by tomorrow!!!

Thanks !

No advice to anyone until they post their profile in the profiles section. :)

I believe she meant the 2010 profiles thread, located here: http://www.physicsgre.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2824

Although I am glad you put your information into your profile as well. I've noticed most people don't and it would be nice if they did so that when discussing schools they got into, I simply have to click on their profile icon to see their information, rather than searching through the profile thread.

Edit: I just noticed that, although you put information into your profile, you didn't include the schools you applied to and whether you were accepted or rejected for those schools. It defeats the purpose of knowing your information if you don't also include where you got in with your credentials.
