UFL application checklist

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

All I see is the total score for the General GRE, but I've been admitted (astronomy) and had received an email earlier from the department saying all they were missing was one letter of recommendation. I sent my scores after taking the test via an Additional Score Report, so it got there as far as I can tell.

I go to school in the US and so I don't need to take the TOEFL.

A short story about UFL's checklist system.

I received an email from UFL about two weeks ago where they asked for two more letters of recommendation since only 1 had been received. I checked the gatorlink system, and it said all three were in. I replied and said that they were in, and got no response. About a week later, they responded with the exact same email. I called them and got confirmation that my application was under review and complete. The next day I had an apology email from the person who had contacted me, saying there was a glitch in what he could access in their system and what was actually there, and that everything was fine. Later that day, I received an offer from them.

Moral of the story: If you think it's in but they say it isn't, it's a good idea to talk to a real person and check.
