UC Riverside's invitation

I received an invitation from UC riverside to apply to their PhD program.they said that they got my profile from GRE search service. so if I apply there will I have a better chance than others..
also how is the school?

any suggestions??

I got the same email, and no I don't think it means much.

yeah true.. they don't even know our research experience and PGRE scores.. so why and how did they choose us? also they have only 2 profs working on my field of interest.. so I am pretty sure I won't be applying there..

That's the thing, I don't think they actually chose us. When you do the GRE they ask you if it's ok if they send your information to a bunch of universities ... you said "yes", that's how they chose you ;)

Riverside is a really nice school. I applied there as an "ultra-safety-school," I ended up getting into UCD and wait-listed at UCSB, but I was really impressed when I visited UCR. No, I'm not going there, but I feel like one would have a good time there and a reasonable chance of getting a job afterwords -- and I can definitely see why it seems to be such a popular safety school.

No, I don't think the e-mail means anything, though.
