See http://grephysics.net/ans/9277/73
I can't figure why the partition function has $\epsilon$and $2\epsilon$: how does Yosun get from $e^{-E_1/kT}(1+e^{-\epsilon/kT})$ to his partition function with $2\epsilon$?
Thanks!

It should be E_1 and E_2 instead of \epsilon and 2\epsilon. The partition function is simply e^{-E_1/kT} + e^{-E_2/kT}.
