How early to register?

Is there any need to register well before the deadline - i.e. do test centers run out of space?

Yes, they do. Especially if you live in an area with few test centers around, register ASAP.

You had better see the period within which one can register for the test. I think that in general you cannot register as early as you want. They will have to annouce the exam dates for the next year and I think that afterwards they will announce that from ... to ... one can register for the test. I think also that you can see the availability of the seats in different test centers in the formal site of GRE.
