using the Knight textbooks

Post by jb » Thu Jul 23, 2009 3:41 pm

Is anyone familiar with "Physics for scientists and engineers" by Randall Knight? I used volume 1 & 3 for my physics 1 and 2 courses, but the rest of the volumes came with the books. After going through some problems on the practice exams it seems like these go into as much detail as I would need for the pgre (volume 2 covers optics and thermo, volume 5 covers relativity and quantum). Its not as in depth as say Griffiths or something like that, but any opinions on if using these books as my main review would be a good idea?
