Yield and other stats

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

Yield and other stats

Anybody know this year's yield at schools, among other stats? Which schools were successful at recruiting students and which didn't do so well?

Well, all I know is that next year's incoming class at Wisc is 45 people -- almost twice the size of the current first year class and over 33% larger than the next largest class. I have no idea where they plan to put everyone. I don't know if you want to count that as successful or not.

UT astronomy made about 25 offers. about 8 of those decided to come. I think that's about what they expected.
