Word limit for personal statements

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

Word limit for personal statements

Post by vivace » Sun Dec 31, 2006 8:30 pm

Does anyone know how strict the admissions committees are about enforcing word limits for personal statements? For example, Illinois has a limit of 1000 words for personal statements. Will reject my application or dock points if I have, say, 1075 words?
