Decision Time 2009 Rumors/Information/Predictions

Post by cato88 » Mon Jan 26, 2009 6:19 pm

I just thought there should be somewhere to post rumors, information, or predictions, on when you think a program will make decisions. Posts should maybe start with school name in bold. feedback?

OSU told me late march to early april... but i don't really care about that anymore
PSU astronomy says they don't know themselves
Stanford Physics I am guessing around Feb 27th

The best guess is look at last year's profiles.... where is Colorado APS`?

OSU Astronomy called me on January 9th to clarify my school's GPA scale (it's out of 4.33 but I later found out that on the transcript they renormalize it to 4.0, so I may have said something wrong but it won't make a substantial difference) and told me they were reviewing my application and to "not be nervous" to which I replied, I'm too exhausted to be nervous (after the week of AAS). Haven't heard anything since? Hope my sense of humor didn't turn them off.

I heard a prediction that some people will get into graduate school, while others will get rejected. The claims are still under verification, but evidence points to a strange world with many physics students.

Quote from MyUCSC Portal:

"Our notification period begins March 1. Admission decisions will be sent to the email address you provided on your application and posted on this Student Portal."
