  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

I can understand your frustration; I am in the same boat as you. However, there is a reason Grae and the others were picked first instead of us. They have the right to weigh all their options without any time constraints or outside pressure. I want to stress that I do know how you are feeling right now: frustrated, depressed and angry that all your effort was seemingly for nothing but please be patient. I wish I could say that everything will be ok but I can't. We have all spent the last five-ish years slaving away and it would be nice to get a validation that all our effort was worth a damn. Again, be patient :D

UW is probably my second choice right now, but I'm afraid I can't tell them anything until I visit my other options. Unfortunately since many schools have visiting days the first week of April you're probably not going to hear back from UW until then, if not even closer to the April 15.

If you're interested in doing nuclear theory or experiment UW sounds like a great place. I hope you get the chance to see the campus before you make your final decision because it's a beautiful place.

How do you know you've been waitlisted at UW?
