Withdrawing this late?

So after a long hard decision I'm still somewhat torn on, I've decided that the school/program I've accepted is not what I want to do. I want to take the year to reassess my options, work a little, and reapply to different schools/programs.

Thus, I want to withdraw, but I feel somewhat horrid about it considering how late I've decided. Does anyone know if this will be a problem in the future (especially with applying next year - obviously not to the school I'm withdrawing from)?

Any advice is appreciated

I feel the same way, but I think it's worth giving things a year, even if it's just to build more recommendations and references and such to build the resume.

So you don't figure it's too late to withdraw?

I don't think so, but you should consider staying for a little while, at least, and getting some references and stuff.

You're probably right, but I'm just afraid that if I go there I'll just "settle in" and never leave. And I really don't want to go there for 5-6 years.
