Applying to a graduate school

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

you can apply before your scores have been reported. you can even apply before you take the test, as long as the schools know you plan to take it (just mark the date down and leave the scores blank).

however, since apps aren't due until december at the earliest, you could wait until after october 17th to worry about applications, and meanwhile focus only on preparing for the exam. I'd recommend it.
