How often do graduate admission committees meet for review?

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

How often do graduate admission committees meet for review?

Postby mbgnjasb » Sun Jan 25, 2015 2:35 am

Hi,

I am wondering how often do graduate admission committees meet for the reviewing applications at US Universities ? I think this might give an idea about how frequently groups of acceptances are out ? Also, how long do committees spend on reviewing applications. On University of Chicago's website, it is written that they finish application review process by 15th of March. Is it similar for most universities ? There seems to be paucity of good information on this matter. Any information will be really helpful.

Thanks

You can find out when acceptances were sent in previous years on the gradcafe website. You spent too long on your GRE verbal if you're using words like "paucity" in everyday speech
