Strong biophysics and Soft condensed matter programs

United states have very strong programs in biophysics and soft matter physics. such as Maryland, College Park - Yale- Illinois-Boston and ... . I am an international student and getting into top programs is very difficult for me . Where do you suggest for these fields in US and why?
