low gre subject score

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

low gre subject score

Post by krymelchen » Thu Dec 07, 2006 2:05 pm

Hi!

I just got my subject score and I am a bit disappointed. I am from Germany and normally a very good student- but this was my first multiple choice test and I had time problems. So I scored only 780 (percentile 74).
General gre was verbal 570, quantitative 800. Toefl iBT 116.

Furthermore I do not have research experience but quite good recommendations.
My grade average is 1.0, which is perfect in Germany ( scale1.0 to6.0). I am female and applying on a Fulbright scholarship.

I am interested in AMO physics especially quantum optics.

So what are my chances for admission to these universities:

U Michigan, Ann Arbor
U Maryland
U Illinois, Urbana Champaign
U Wisconsin, Madison
U Texas, Austin
