F-1 Visa

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

F-1 Visa

Post by Kaminemo » Tue Apr 10, 2018 1:53 pm

Hello all!
I have a question regarding the F-1 Visa interview; since i didn't find much about PhD students' experiences, is it safe to assume that generally PhD students get their visas easily or are there some complications that we should be aware of?

Student visa, especially for a PhD is easier to get than other visas for the US. Only thing you need to keep in mind is that you need to be able to convince them that you don't intend to stay in the US after the completion of your PhD. Be confident that's all.
