Pardon the entirely retarded question:

  • This has become our largest and most active forum because the physics GRE is just one aspect of getting accepted into a graduate physics program.
  • There are applications, personal statements, letters of recommendation, visiting schools, anxiety of waiting for acceptances, deciding between schools, finding out where others are going, etc.

Pardon the entirely retarded question:

Postby vroomfondel » Fri Feb 15, 2008 11:09 pm

but I take courage and inspiration from the other entirely retarded question of ranking 5 ivies (yes, RG...there are such things as stupid questions, like most of mine)

But I'm taking a hell of a shellacking, a half-hourly kick in the nuts (if you will), everytime I check my god damned account for news from Stanford, Yale, Berkeley UCSB, Colorado...and I just need some false hope, or lack of hope -- in facebook terms, "whatever I can get".

The question: Are the above Physics/Applied Physics programs much harder to get into than UIUC? Or are the comparable? (cond-mat.exp)
