I am a holder of a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications. But I want to switch over to physics for my MS.
I've done research for a lot of things. But I need some more information as to whether I should really use up my application to apply for MS physics. For this I wanted to contact the department of physics for various universities that I have chosen so that I may have more of an idea as to how inclined they may be to take me. However, I don't really know to whom I should make out the email to. Should I just try the head of the department straight away? Also what is all the pertinent information I should add that would all be necessary but does not seem like a waste of time for them?
How should I make a letter to the department of a university I am interested in?
