Letter of Intent Format: Should an address be including in online submissions?

What is the general format of a letter of intent? I know what I want the body my letter to consist of, but is the traditional address supposed to be included when a submission is made electronically?

Usually it does not have to include an address, but you could if you want to make it look more like a cover letter. If there are no page limits, then do whatever you feel like doing. If there is a page limit, then don't waste space with the traditional address block. The typical format is just an essay.
