Sent two free score reports for Physics GRE

Post by paulharrylemon » Sat Dec 12, 2015 4:32 pm

So I made a regrettable decision and chose my top two choices to receive my free score reports for the physics GRE. I got a lower score on the September exam. Will the lower score have any negative effect on my admissions process?

You could ask Graduate Schools of those universities to disregard your previous score if it is possible, so that admission committees would see your last score. In any case, even if profs see that your score increased in a appropriate manner it will have no negative impact on your admission.

Even if it did there's not much you can do about it.

840's a fine score. Many people take the pGRE twice and in some ways it speaks in your favor that 840 is insufficient for you and that you managed to improve by over a hundred points. Don't be silly wasting SoP words on justifying the test result since that's space you could be using to express your passions.
