GPA concern

Post by LeStrk20 » Sun Aug 07, 2016 1:39 am

Hey everyone I am currently a junior here at UC Berkeley and I'm a bit concerned about my future and I was wondering if someone could give me some insight. So I'm primarily worried that I won't be considered for top 20 programs because of my GPA which is currently a 3.6 in major. I've heard that most schools that are in the MIT, caltech range wouldn't even look at me because of this. Is this true or can the undergraduate university that you attend help boost your chances? because the grade curves here at berkeley can sometimes really hurt :( I have been doing research these last 2 years though and have some good programming experience and hopefully I can score well on the PGRE; but I still have anxiety over my gpa and really want to succeed in the future as a physicist. Thank you for any insight and have a good day
