I'm planning on applying to graduate school this coming fall for experimental high-energy physics. I am especially interested in astroparticle physics, e.g. neutrino astronomy or dark mattter. While I've been using gradschoolshopper to figure out a lot of the "logistics" information behind various graduate programs, I have not been able to find any kind of comprehensive list of graduate programs which are notably good for experimental particle physics (most lists are for theory). This is what I have compiled so far:
Best Ph.D. Programs for hep-exp
Columbia Univ.
MIT
Stanford
Univ. of Chicago
Well-Regarded Ph.D. Programs for hep-exp
SUNY Stony Brook
Boston University
Duke University
Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison
Univ. of South Carolina
"Safe Schools" for hep-exp
North Carolina State Univ.
Does anyone know of other schools that are well known for high-energy experiment, especially in the well-regarded or safe schools categories? I was thinking of CU Boulder or UT Austin as well-regarded programs, but I'm not sure about their reputations in hep-exp specifically.

Re: Programs for experimental high-energy physics
For the well-regarded or safe, one I heard about is Southern Methodist University. I think all of their research is in particle physics, which allows them to have a fairly good program despite being a smaller school.
