according to 2011 US news rankings, I found in another post, the rankings are
ELEMENTARY PARTICLES / FIELD / STRING THEORY
1 Stanford
2 UC Berkeley
3 Harvard
3 Princeton
5 Caltech
6 MIT
7 Chicago
8 UC Santa Barbara
9 Cornell
10 Columbia
11 U Michigan
12 Wisconsin--Madison
13 UT Austin

But since you're appearing for the physics GRE in august, you probably wouldn't know your scores by the time you apply, so also make sure you apply to some safety schools. good luck!

Should I then apply next year . I am working presently and its already been a year since I am out of Coll.

If your work is Physics related, as in research work, then apply next year, but if it's not, it's better to apply while your still in touch with Physics. But the decision is finally yours and you should base it on how well you are prepared for the Physics GRE.

i am appearing Genereal GRE in september and AGRE in nov( cause thats the only date here.) So please suggest me what
should i do. and i am a particle physics student.
Is it possible to apply to some good university without giving the PGRE.
Please help me to get out of this situation.
