I got in caltech and cmu for material sci Phd prog...can anyone suggest me where should I go???? thanks a lot

If CMU = carnegie mellon, then I think u r comparing the US with a third world country and asking if you should go to a third world country or stay in the US for better life.
Of course go to a third world country ( I'm from one of that place 8) )

CMU--Carnegie-Mellon, Central Michigan, Central Missouri.....so few initials, so many schools

its Carnegie ...thankx guys for all ur suggestion...actually CMU has bigger department in comparison to caltech that made me re-consider my initial decision of going to Caltech....

Well, if you were asking about pretty much any area of physics, then all these folks' "Caltech is teh roxxors!!11!" comments might be right. But since it's materials science, and Caltech and CMU's programs are ranked about equally, you're going to be deciding based on research you're interested in (and so size can matter, if it means more options), and the structure of the program, and all that.

But you got to the point of applying for and getting into two pretty good programs, so you must know this by now...
