PhD programs for Optics/Photonics

Post by NeutronBeam » Fri Feb 16, 2018 3:44 pm

I'm a junior physics major at Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a 3.51 GPA. I haven't taken the GREs yet, but I'm looking for programs to apply to. My interests lie mostly in quantum optics/photonics. I will have one 2nd author paper done by the end of this year, and a first author by October of next year. I'm currently in the northeast and would like to stay there, but am willing to relocate if need be. Any advice?

Hi @NeutronBeam,

I'm currently trying to contact College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona for the detailed information about the program, as I'm interested in Optical Sciences mostly. Somehow (they say it's hereditary), it happened so that I have a poor eyesight, so I've got used to the lenses since the age of 5.
Have you contacted any universities yet?
Last week I sent an email to UCF (concerning their Optics and Photonics PhD program). Here's the list of unis with PhD in optics/photonicshere on Quora (I've started from those).
