I want to do experimental research in AMO. Anyone have a list of schools with solid AMO programs?

Hi Byzantium1453.. I'm also applying for AMO exp this fall. Do you have any idea now? :D I think the US news list is good but not so complete and might be a little biased.. Do you know other options beyond them? Thanks. :D

Hi common_2012
I made a list of mid tier schools in AMO experiments based on what the grad students in my lab told me and by looking at where previous AMO experiment on this forum applied. Here it is, with a few notes, mainly the number of experimental AMO professors at each school.

Boulder - 10 professors, near NIST
Rochester - 5 professors
Arizona - 5 professors
Rice - 3 professors
Michigan - 11 professors
Central Florida - 2 professors
Wisconsin - 4 professors, heard there might be budget cuts?
Texas Austin - 3 professors
UC San Diego - 3 professors
UC Santa Barbara - 2 professors
Georgia Tech - 10 professors
Penn State - 7 professors
Stoney Brook - 5 professors
Cornell - 4 professors
Washington Seattle - 4 professors
Columbia - 4 professors
Illinois Urbana - 3 professors
Virginia - 6 professors
RPI - 7 professors
Ohio State - 11 professors
Duke - 1 professor

I'd recommend looking through the websites for professors you'd like to work with. The number just gives you a rough estimate how lively the program is at that school. If anyone has any other schools they'd like to recommend, please let me know.
