I havent been in physics since 1995 like 15 years ago.. I have a BS in phyiscs, but I started working in computer programming. I want to earn a PHD in physics


tell me

1) Should I buy halliday and resnick on amazon, with the solutions manual to review for the GRE physics

2) Should I study for a perfect score on the general GRE quantitative

3) My most serious question is on major.
I am iinterested in super conductors, and computational physics. should I chose computational physics or condensed matter physics even if research is in semiconductors?

1) that's a good idea

2) it isn't required, but you want to be sort of close to 800 usually-like in the 750 area. If you put a week or two into studying you should be fine.

3) you usually don't pick a major this specific right away in physics grad school. Indicate what you want to do in your sop, and find groups you want to work with, then usually indicating you're interested in experiment in your application is enough.
