web links to study materials
hello all,
i thought i'd share some links to some interesting stuff i've found.....
here are a couple to start off with:
ETS Committee of examiners sample questions (31 problems, 1999):
http://www.scribd.com/doc/7221045/GRE-Physics
This thing apparently sucks (but i think some of the quick review in the beginning is half-way decent) REA "Purple Book":

Re: web links to study materials
Hi guys,
I also just found this link......
http://electron9.phys.utk.edu/GRE/practice_tests.htm
Unless I'm out of my mind and can't remember, I'm pretty sure some of the questions they have in these docs are not off the available practice exams (obviously the ones with 4 answer choices, but some with 5 choices look as devious as a GRE question), but look scanned from 'somewhere else'.........

Some other interesting stuff, no new questions, but some guides, and study materials:
Steuard Jensen, Special relativity diagrams, optics review:

Some insight from an UT-Arlington student:

Another guide at UArk, some hand written answers by a prof for GR9677:

Hello,
I was just wondering about the link that "tensorwhat" added, namely:
http://electron9.phys.utk.edu/GRE/practice_tests.htm
Are the questions there the same as those in the 4 practice tests ?
If not, then what are they exactly? I mean, are they close enough to
those appearing in an original PGRE test?
Thanks.

Has anyone checked all these out?? I'm also curious if anyone has found anything that allows you to study on your iPhone??

Interesting that a guy at the 52nd percentile feels qualified to give advice on the physics GRE. But what he says about sugar is a good idea, and that you should concentrate on the questions you can do in the time available is good advice.tensorwhat wrote:Some insight from an UT-Arlington student:

the only resource that you can trust is the test materials released by ETS which is your first priority. after that, you can decide by your own on whether these questions are helpful enough or whether you have time to work on them or nai.marcosan wrote:Has anyone checked all these out??
the extra 35 questions by ETS that tensorwhat has linked, have been already linked in the forum in other topics.

The material isn't free but it's not crazy expensive either. The study package is fabulous and comes with reading material, quizzes, practice exams, and analytic reports. They probably offer some of the best features I've seen compared with other prep websites.

On topic spam, though. It's like doing a google search for enlarging your penis and being pissed that someone tries to sell you bogus pills.

I remember being quite surprised when I discovered that everybody gets spam emails on enlarging one's genitals, losing weight, getting a hold of money, and making yourself less ugly. Thought it was coming from people who knew me.bfollinprm wrote:On topic spam, though.

If they had spam for "make your girly hands manly", "fix your obnoxious sense of humor", "stop your horrible body odor" and "cure excessive masturbation" I'd probably get it too.bfollinprm wrote:small genitals was just a lucky guess
