Physics majors average 160 on Lsat

Post by tweetie_brid » Fri Nov 29, 2013 12:02 am

I am going to take the decemeber lsat for fun. My heart lies in physics, but I want to see how I do.

I am only studying for a week, and then back to my PGRE prep for April 2014

That 160 average is a number quoted by AIP; then again, how much of that high average is due to self-selection and how much of that is due to the benefits of a rigorous physics curriculum? I'd personally say that there is a little bit of both...

Here's one version of the fuller list.

Tied for 2nd place is Philosophy. My (non-physics) friends who took the LSAT said that they had a lot of problems learning how to answer the logic problems. So, since Physics/Math proofs and many streams of Philosophy require a lot of formal logic, this might be a contributing factor. Note that the number of Physics major that take the exam is pretty low, so self-selection does seem to be at least part of the reason too.

I do know people in Physics who take the LSAT and are aiming for a science-related law degree (e.g. patent law).

Can you at least tell us how high your LSAT is? I believe that scores from the December LSAT are released by now...

I ended up studying 2 days for the LSAT.

I got a 150 which was 44 percent.

I am not special anyone who gives a good 8 hour prep should get this
