Helped or hurt by the PGRE?

This question is not related whatsoever to whether the PGRE is a good test of ability, or whether it should be kept or changed or eliminated. I am simply curious if the PGRE score is a weak point or strong point for most applicants.

Good question, but unfortunately, this thread will probably never get the attention it deserves because it is in the neglected "lounge".
Another question to ask would be whether everyone was accepted to their top choice school.

Sentence in Context: "Helpedurt"
I was helpedurt by the GRE since I scored high on it but got a papercut from the exam booklet which has gotten infected.

... but hurt works just fine in that context.
Everyone knows the GRE is useless for helping.

Another rant of standardized test:
In a randomly organized system such as education, some standards have been produced, however, these have been described vaguely. The standardized test is the white knight riding into town to rescue the maid (in this case the admissions committee in all its wisdom) from the sheer attempt to comprehend what other universities are doing. it gives the guideline of what is supposed to have been learned and shows what the university is clearly lacking.
It is like the SAT... dumb test made by people who have already been through grad school
