Dec physics gre...anyone giving it a go go?

  • If you want to know something about the GRE subject test in physics then chances are you will find it in here.

Dec physics gre...anyone giving it a go go?

Post by perihelion » Thu Nov 30, 2006 3:45 pm

Hey everyone, just wanted to see if anyone else was taking the december physics gre and if anyone might have some last minute advice for us who are gearing up for it. I feel like i've studied all I can at this point, but I know that I am not 100% prepared. Thoughts?

haha, I'm not sure you can ever study enough for this test, I would just keep memorizing as many equations and concepts as you can. One thing I've been doing is going through and trying to take practice tests without calculating anything...just using stuff like limiting cases, symmetry, dimensional analysis and that stuff and seeing how many I can get right

My plan: I'm going to wear my physics formula t-shirt.

Yeah, thanks for the replies...I've been doing ok with the studying the last couple of weeks, but now it just seems so discouraging as the test gets closer. I like the idea of just going through the test and using dimensional analysis and limiting cases to see what you can solve...I admit that I don't use those techniques as much as I should and it's something i'm definitely going to look at in the next day or two.

Good luck to anyone taking this beast this saturday!
