Just a quick clarification on scores!!

Postby ajstaunton » Thu Aug 30, 2012 2:01 pm

The Physics Department of University of California, Davis says:

"The average percentiles for admitted students are: 74 verbal, 89 quantitative, 55 analytical writing, 62 subject"

When they say 62 Subject, are they referring to raw scores here? So if I were to convert that to a scaled score going by the table at the back of the 2008 sample Physics GRE that the ETS have made available, we would be saying that the score of 62 gives a scaled score of 810 or better than 74% of other test takers.. Is that correct?!

Key word is percentile. 62 percentile = top 38% of people taking that specific PGRE.
