Calculators for advanced physics test

Wow I wish we could use calculators. I can remember most sine,, cosine tan. But I dont know how many natural logarithms I can remember.
There also might be many time consuming tedious divisions, and multiplications etc.

He was not asking if they could be used, just discussing his laments. I know it makes it harder to search for information, but this is also a discussion forum and the guy was just discussing. No need to close the topic.

So if the OP is still around: take heart, you really don't ever need to know anything more complicated than sin, cos, and tan. Maybe a few order-of-magnitude calculations, a bit of long division, nothing the average physics major couldn't train up on in a few weeks or months.
Take a look at the published tests (there are links on this subforum) and get an idea of the sort of calculations you might need. Calculators are really not necessary.

He can follow the discussion there and use the tips that are already there.

Yes, I just don't think we should be discouraging people from posting unless they are asking a question that has been asked and answered many times before.
